Is Kiloach free?
Yes. Kiloach is free, with no ads and no hidden subscription. No paid programme, no meal plans to buy.
Do I need to create an account?
Nope. Open the app, answer 7 quick questions, and off you go. No email, no password.
How does Kiloach work out calories?
Type what you ate in a sentence, or snap a photo of your plate. Artificial intelligence estimates the calories, protein, carbs, fat and fibre. These are estimates, and you can always tweak the portion.
Are the calories exact?
They're estimates, like any you'd get without weighing every single ingredient. The more detail you give (amount, cooking, sauce), the more accurate it gets. What matters most is consistency and the trend over several days.
Is it a diet?
No. Kiloach doesn't tell you what to eat and doesn't ban anything. Eat what you like, the app counts, tracks your trend and cheers you on.
How is my calorie target worked out?
Kiloach estimates your daily energy use from your height, weight, age and activity level, then suggests a starting target slightly below that. You can change it anytime, and even set a different one for weekends.
Can I log drinks and alcohol?
Yes. Water is tracked glass by glass, with an adjustable goal. Alcohol is logged by type (wine, beer, champagne, spirits, cocktails), and its calories count towards your day.
Does Kiloach work with Apple Health?
Yes, on iPhone. If you allow it, Kiloach reads your steps, walks, workouts and weigh-ins, and logs your weigh-ins and meal calories there too. This data stays on your phone.
What about Android?
Kiloach is also on Android. Tracking meals, weight, drinks and stats works just the same.
Where's my data kept?
On your phone. An encrypted backup copy goes to a server in Europe, locked behind your recovery code. Without that code, nobody can read it, not even us.
I'm switching phones, do I lose everything?
No. With your recovery code, you'll find all your data again on your new phone. Keep it safe, without it nobody can open your backup.
What languages is Kiloach available in?
24 languages, all the official languages of the EU. Kiloach keeps things friendly and informal in every one.
Does Kiloach calculate my BMI?
No, on purpose. Kiloach follows your weight, your trend and your goal, without boxing you into a category.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. In Profile, "Delete my server backup" wipes your encrypted copy, and deleting the app wipes everything stored on your phone.
Does Kiloach replace a doctor or dietitian?
No. Kiloach helps you see your habits clearly, but it doesn't give medical advice. If you're dealing with illness, pregnancy, treatment or an eating disorder, speak to a healthcare professional.
What's the minimum age?
Kiloach is built for adults, aged 18 and over.
