Terms of use

1. The app
Kiloach helps you track your weight, meals and activity. You log what you eat in a sentence or a photo, the app estimates the calories and gives you a progress tracker. It’s free to use.

2. Not medical advice
Kiloach isn’t a medical device and doesn’t replace a doctor, dietitian or nutritionist. The calories, protein, carbs and fat are estimates calculated by artificial intelligence from your description or photo. They can be wrong. Energy expenditure figures are estimates too. Before making any major changes to your diet, or if you’re ill, pregnant, dealing with an eating disorder or on medication, get advice from a health professional.

3. Age
Kiloach is for adults. It shouldn’t be used by anyone under 18.

4. The app’s tone
Kiloach talks to you in a friendly, teasing way. These messages are written to make you smile and keep you motivated, never to judge you.

5. Your data
Your data stays yours. How it’s used, backed up and protected is explained in our privacy policy. Your recovery code is personal. If you lose it, your backup can’t be recovered, because we can’t read it.

6. Fair use
You agree not to misuse the app, for example by sending mass requests to the calorie calculation service or content unrelated to a meal.

7. Availability
We do our best to keep the app and calorie calculation running at all times, but we can’t guarantee it. The app may change, be updated or discontinued. If it’s ever discontinued, you’ll be told within the app.

8. Liability
The app is provided as is. Within the limits allowed by law, the publisher can’t be held responsible for decisions made based on the estimates shown, or for data loss caused by losing your recovery code or your phone.

9. Intellectual property
The Kiloach name, logo, mascot, text and app design belong to the publisher. They can’t be reproduced without permission.

10. Stopping using Kiloach
You can stop at any time. In the Profile tab, “Delete my backup from the server” erases your encrypted copy, then deleting the app erases everything else on your phone. You can also write to mouns@kust.fr.

11. Changes
These terms may change over time. The last updated date is shown at the top of this page.

12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where the publisher is registered. In the event of a dispute, we’ll always look for an amicable solution first. If you’re a consumer, you can also use a consumer mediation service free of charge.
