Our method and our sources
Weight, food and health are serious topics. You can talk about them with humour, not with carelessness. Here are the rules every piece of Kiloach content follows.
Every article is sourced
Every figure, every recommendation and every health claim is backed by an identified source. Sources are always listed at the bottom of the article, with their name, a date where one exists, and a link.
The sources we use
- Health authorities and public agencies, the World Health Organization, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), ANSES, the NHS, and their equivalents in each country.
- Scientific studies published in peer-reviewed journals, available on PubMed.
- Recognised international organisations such as the FAO.
We don’t use blogs, social media, or sites selling a product related to the topic, as sources.
Checks before publishing
Before an article goes live, every source link is checked to make sure it exists and is accessible. An article with a source that doesn’t respond isn’t published as is.
What we never do
- Promise a result (“lose 5kg in a month”).
- Recommend a diet, ban a food, or make anyone feel guilty.
- Give medical advice. Our articles inform, they don’t replace a healthcare professional.
- Publish content paid for by a brand.
Updates
Knowledge moves on. When an official recommendation changes, the relevant article gets updated and its update date is shown.
