Your data and privacy

Last updated on 9 October 2026.

What stays on your phone

Your weigh-ins, meals, profile and goals are stored on your phone. Kiloach has no adverts, no trackers and never sells your data.

Apple Health

On iPhone, if you allow it, Kiloach reads your steps, distance, active calories, workouts and weigh-ins from Apple Health, and writes your weigh-ins and meal calories back to it. This data is read and used only on your phone. It’s never sent to our servers, into your backup, or to anyone else.

Where our servers are

Our server is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, within the European Union (Finland).

How we work out calories

When you ask for a meal to be calculated, the sentence you’ve written and, if you take one, the photo of your dish, are sent to our server, which passes them to an AI service (Anthropic) to estimate the calories. Nothing is kept on our server once the answer’s been given.

Your backup

So you don’t lose anything when you switch phones, Kiloach sends a copy of your data to our server. This copy is encrypted on your phone with your recovery code before it leaves. The server doesn’t know this code and can’t read your data. Without the code, no one can open it, including us. You can delete your backup at any time from the Profile tab.

Your feedback

If you write to us via “Give feedback”, your message, first name and phone model are kept to help improve the app.

Deleting your data

In the Profile tab, “Delete my backup from the server” erases your encrypted copy. Deleting the app erases everything on your phone. For any request, write to mouns@kust.fr, we’ll reply within 30 days.

Contact
